ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER YEAR!!!

Well the Rhino's won their game this weekend. It was a good game. Jr was really excited and happy with his performance. Talia on the other hand, was not so happy- for those of you who know the gossip- she's ready to quit cheerleading all together. She's not use to the kattiness of girls and trying to explain it to her is heartbreaking. She's not use to the manipulating and drama that comes with growing up :) "Welcome to the world of teenage girls"- it sucks :)
Why does she have to grow up.....

How i wish she was still my babygirl- ck out her baby pics :)

On the other hand i took a break from working out- yeah i know, i just started- but what do you do. I will restart tomorrow :) Serjio Sr has been a great support, especially since he's been trying to lose weight as well. But as always its difficult. He's been doing great!

Check out the boy below- he's number 89 :) My dad would be so proud :)

By the way - the girls did finally get there uniforms :) check it out :)

IN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY!!

Sorry its been a long time since i updated- Football and cheerleading has kept me busy:)

I've also have started the long goal of FINALLY losing weight. During the kids practice i have decided to run/walk 2- 3 miles. I have lost about 20 lbs- but still need about 30 to go :) Will keep posting pics and updates with my results :)

Update on RHINO football and cheerleading- The team lost two games since my last blog, but won this last one- see pics. Serjio jr is improving with football, he tends to play alot. He is also starting to lose more weight, which means he is GROWING and also eating everything in sight. He is finally bigger than his dad- so he is about 6ft tall. Talia is growing too- she's really thinning out- she enjoys cheer, but wonders why cheerleaders need to shake their booty so much :) . Since i have never been a cheerleader in my life- i told her "that's just what cheerleaders do..." I don't think she bought that answer, though.... lol

THE BOYZ -THE BOYZ(Nick and Anthony) have been MIA for several weeks- They finally came over and just in time. Thier dad had an extra ticket to go to the COWBOYS vs CARDINALS game that Sunday- so guess who lucked out!! - yeah, gordo aka-serjio jr. If you didn't see the game, you missed a GREAT game. We tailgated prior to game and met up with Serjio's cousins- they were suprized to see how big the kids were. Needless to say, the Cowboys lost-We ended our night at the neighbors house (rich- the rockstar/singer aka HUGH Cardinals fan) and got to hear how great the Cardinals were.... Hey you gotta to give it to them, the Cardinals had a MEAN defense- and for the guy who got kicked in the gut/nuts taking one for the team- he has to STILL be hurting. Will try to keep updating sooner- so the verbal vomit does not sound so garbled :) By the way- check out video clip for some of my favorit movies- this week SIXTEEN CANDLES :)

Football Football Football

Well if you haven't heard enough about football- here is some more. The Rhino's (team Jr is on) is kicking butt!!!! We have had 4 games and have won 32-0/42-0/42-0/42-0. Talia is still cheerleading and having fun. We played the Saint this day- and it felt like the hottest day all summer. Everyone was miserable :)

This week we learned Little Serjio is now OFFICIALLY taller than big serjio. Which i guess makes little serjio not so little :) Ms Talia got a haircut- it is really cute. Her dad thinks it makes her look older. So he's having a hard time with it :). The kids are doing good, just in a hurry to grow up :) Little do they know....

The Game.....

Well the first game is here and the boy got his football uniform- but Talia had a delay with hers, but she was provided with a tee until the uniforms get in. The day started out VERY HOT, and we wondered how we were going to be without a something covering us from the sun. Well our worries were soon over as it became cloudy. We got to the field, got comfy and then it started.... the rain came pouring down. We tried to hide under someone cover, but there just was not enough room. Me, Talia, Serjio and jr were soaking wet- but the game must go on. The coaches made the comment of "MUD BALL", and that is exactly what happened. The girls cheered on without a coach (coach could not make it) and in the rain. It was great!!!

We later drove home exausted, wet and tired, but we mentioned to the kids that we would try to go to the ASU game. We finally got off our bottoms and took them-we arrived to the game at 9pm, hoping it would be close to over. To our suprize it was 5 minutes til half time. My cousin's kids joined us as they had there own tickets but needed a ride- she didn't trust them to drive to Tempe. My brother also joined us, but go bored mid game and walked around a bit- he met a girl :).

Practice is finally over!!!

So the three weeks has finally ended, and not a moment too soon. Monsoon weather is here and we seemed to have has a rain/lighting threat at practice this past week. Talia is learing several more cheers and Serjio is getting the hang of football :). We had a scrimage at the end of the 3 week practice- The Rhinos (serjio's football team) won both. The girls should have there cheerleading uniforms for the first game.

Tu Vuo' Fa L'Americano??

After the football scrimage we went over to our neighbors (Amadeus) house. He had family visiting from Italy, who only spoke Italian. They were really loud and funny- if only we could understand them. They kinda seemed like a big mexican family- partying, drinking, and eating :) The boys (you'll here me refer to them alot- there names are nick and anthony) and my kids were running around all over the place playing nightseek. Our other neighbor (Richard) showed up and we all went back to his house so he could sing some ROCK N ROLL!! As he was singing guns n roses Amadeus family were taking pics and video to show there Italian neighbors what they had experience in the U.S of A.

Are we ready for some FOOTBALL???

This year we decided keep the kids busy by putting them into football and cheerleading. Little serjio was EXCITED to say the least. I, however- being a mom- really didn't want to put the boy in football- i don't want my baby to get hurt :). Serjio Sr. didn't give me much option though. He looked at me and said "He's fine- he's a big boy". We tried to go to pop warner, but they still had weight requirements and with Jr's height he couldn't drop 20lbs and be healthy- he's already thin enough. The lady at pop warner told us to try ACYFL, because they did not have weight requirements. Coach Mario contacted us that day to see if Serjio wanted to join there team. We met the next day and Jr started football camp that next week.
WARNING: You will see body parts of Talia's in some of these pics- she thinks its funny to jump in front of the camera before i take the picture...lol :)

First day of school- already???

Today is the first day of school. Serjio is now an 8th grader and this is his last year of middle school. He said, he enjoyed seeing everyone and, it was nice to be able to go to school and not have to re-make new friends. However, he did say it felt like he was still in 7th grade and summer was obviously too short!

Talia, had a good day too. Its her first time changing classes and she said the day went by pretty fast. She 's enjoying the opportunity to get to know other classmates. She was suprized when her best friend (Mizia) started screaming when she saw her :)

Poison Ivy....

The trail was fairly easy and fun. We passed through several creeks and old trees that had fallen. All the while, Talia was a little nervous about it raining. The sky was over-casted but not much came of it until the end of our hike. We stopped in an area of smooth red rock with a creek and deep pool. It almost seemed like it didn't belong there- since most of our hike at this point was forest. We sat down- and put our feet in the water- it was nice and cool- a little slimey- but nothing we couldn't deal with :). We decided to go back from there. We still had a long drive home and it was getting close to 6pm. Closer to the way back to the car, it really started to rain, we ended up running to the car. Our last stop was at Dairy Queen for a quick snack, before our drive home. Virginia was going to make dinner for us, upon our return- so we didn't want to spoil our appetite.

Oh, I forgot to mention the poison ivy. Apparently, poison ivy and poison oak was growing rapidly. There were signs EVERYWHERE to watch out for it. So during our hike- Serjio and Talia would point to EVERY green plant- and say "THAT'S POISON IVY???"....Boy, If i had a nickle for every time- i heard that ...lol :)

Hiking???

Depite the rain, we decided to head back to Oak Creek Canyon and go on a hike at
West Fork in Sedona. The hike was amazing- almost majestic. There were old ruins of a 1920's settlement (Mayhew Lodge), with overgrown remnants of fireplaces and stone floors and walls still visible. There is also an unusual cliff house-or what we call a room dug out of the mountain, and a little house that the kids labeled a chicken coupe. We veered off the trail for just a bit- to see the creek and we saw more than we expected. We passed under a vined overpass and there were vines growing on trees EVERYWHERE. Talia said it remined her of the beautiful majestic forest from Snow White. I agree :)

SNOWBOWL IN THE SUMMER

We continued to travel north of Flagstaff and ended up at Snowbowl. We were going to hike up there, but it looked like a storm was coming in. We hiked up the grassy area that usually is covered in snow during the winter, but there was a lighting watch so we only hiked up half way and it was a good thing we did. On our way down, the sky opened up and it poured. By the way the hike up the sloop was much harder than it looked :)
